Kano trade fair opens

The 39th Kano International Trade Fair was inaugurated on Saturday where Nigeria restated its commitment to the rapid industrialization of the country .‎
The Minister of Trade and Investment, Mr. Okechukwu Enelamah, declared the fair opened.
“We are committed to rapid industrialization as government acknowledges that the partnership with the private sector is a key enabler  for achieving our industrialization targets.
“The government has also put in place industrial council under the chairmanship of the vice president Prof. Yemi Osinbajo that is working on six thematic areas to achieve our goal.‎
We are committed as government to create enabling environment for all business to thrive. We will continue to create wealth and jobs,” he added.
Represented by Permanent Secretary in the ministry, amr. Edet Akapan, said that the government was committed to improve its policies and programmes to enhance standard of living of all Nigerians.
The Minister who discribed this this year’s theme: “ease of doing business for sustainable development in Nigeria” as apt and timely.
He added that the country was not relenting at putting in place the basic facilities that should enable commerce and business flourish in the Nigeria.
Enelamah said that world bank report reveled that the country was one of the top 10 most improved economies in the world.
In the area of access to credit , the country moved from 32nd position to in 2017 to 6th position in 2018.
On enforcing contract also, he said that nigeria moved from 139th in 2017 to 96th in 2018 while starting business from 138th to 130th position in 2018.
‎Earlier, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje ‎of Kano state, said that his administration has reinvigorated ministry of commerce in line with federal government’s ease of doing business.
He added that the state government in collaboration with the federal government ‎‎built Solar energy at Abubakr Rimi market to curtail incessant fire outbreaks.
Ganduje added that the ‎theme: “ease of doing business for sustainable development in Nigeria,”‎ was chosen to underscore the importance of relationships and interactions among businesses for the purpose of wealth creation.
He also stated that the chamber is committed to the vision of the present administration in respect of economic diversification and self- reliance.
