Nigeria commits to uplift standard of living

Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo has reassured that the Federal government will continue to render all the necessary support needed for uplifting people’s standard of living in the country.
The Vice President have this assurance on Thursday in kaduna while unveiling the Kaduna Investment Summit 6.0 with the Theme : “Towards a Sustainable Knowledge-based Economy”
He lauded the efforts of the state government at promoting investments stressing that this brings prestige not only to Kaduna State but to Nigeria as a whole.
According to him, he follows Kaduna state government progress due to the state government seriousness which has brought to the sub national governance in Nigeria.
He said , the policies and innovation in the state which is clearly an exemplar
According to him, the theme for the summit which is a commendable development.
” With the focus we must be developing a knowledge base economy which is now human capital and knowledge can be productive asset basic product”he said.
He noted that knowledge base economy can enhance performance and all the benefits that can be drived from Agriculture, manufacturing and services.
He said the summit has become a platform that has been unveil not just only to market kaduna but Nigeria in general as a compelling businesses destination for investment.
He said Gov. El-rufai effort clearly position to shows to benefit maximally from the critical infrastructural development.
He said kaduna state Government policies are complementing Federal government by creating millions of jobs and opportunities.
He noted that Kaduna state as the business hub for future job creation and for the future of economic development, not only in kaduna but the country at large.
According to him, we are very far from taking full advantage of our young people.
“The main problem is how to bridge the barrier to the knowledge economy , how to summount the barriers to the knowledge economy,
” The first is the structure that provide incentive for entrepreneurship and use of knowledge, the second is the availability of skills , labor and good education system and access to information.
“And communication technology and ICT and the fourth is vibrant investing landscape that includes academia private sector and civil society” he said.
He further emphasized that knowledge economy which is entirely dependent on intellectual capital and knowledge work force.
In his remark, Gov Nasir El-rufai of Kaduna State said the state has laid a foundation for the provision of over seven million jobs before 2050.
Elrufai explained that over 70 percent of the population in Kaduna State are below 30 years of age hence the need for informed decision to harness the potentials of this youthful human resources accordingly.
He disclosed that the state government has recorded tremendous successes in the previous editional Investment Summits noting that renewed efforts are being intensified to maintain the enviable position of the state as number one in the ease of doing business in Nigeria.
He said , as part of efforts to boost business activities and generate huge revenue for development, the Kaduna State Government is holding its six edition of Economic and Investment Summit tagged KADINVEST 6.0
According to him, the summit was a platform for demonstrating that Kaduna State is open for business and the state has demonstrated firm commitment to achieving sustainable economic growth by legislating to make it easier to do business, and aligning its budget to capital expenditure to build human capital and infrastructure.
He highlighted some of the achievements recorded since the beginning of the first summit in 2016 to date which he said included the declaration of the state as number one in the ease of doing business and making the state number four in terms of internally generated revenue in the country.
Governor Elrufai stated that apart from the about three billion dollar investment, the state hasbeen able to provide over one hundred thousand direct and indirect jobs in the state.
