Bauchi governor signs 2022 Appropriation Bill into law

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has signed the 2022 appropriation Bill of N197.4 billion into law earlier passed by the State House of Assembly.

While signing the appropriation bill, Mohammed commended the legislators for the speedy passage of the budget, and pledged to ensure probity and accountability in its implementation.

Mohammed said the budget tagged: “Budget of Consolidation and Continuous Commitment”, would made positive impact on social and economic sectors towards improving the lives of the people of the state.

He said the upward review of the budget by the legislators from the initial N195 billion to N197.4 billion was done in good faith.

The budget, he said, was predicated to address key priorities of the government and focus on completion of all ongoing projects.

The governor reaffirmed his administration commitment towards ensuring autonomy of the legislature.

Earlier, the Speaker, Abubakar Suleiman said the upward review of the budget was to cover counter part funding of N2.2 billion for some donor organisations.

Suleiman pledged the cooperation and understanding of the legislature to enable the government move the state to greater height through execution of viable projects.
