The Benin Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (BENCCIMA) has rescheduled the 2020 Edo Trade Fair due to security challenges in the state.
Mr John Imalingmhe, Secretary of the 2020 Edo Trade Fair Planning Committee, said in Benin.
Imalingmhe, said: “We have moved the date by a week so that the security situation in the state can be beefed up.
“We are working with security agencies who are part of the planning committee to ensure that there is tight security in the state during the fair,” he said.
He said participants were already enthusiastic to attend the fair which would hold in adherence with COVID-19 protocols.
“We are hopeful that the trade fair will be successful, going by the large numbers of invitees that have shown interest to participate in the fair.
“We have gotten positive responses from the manufacturers, entrepreneurs and local farmers that we invited to participate in the trade fair.
“The participants will be grouped based on the commodities they sell to ease accessibility for shoppers,” he said.
The trade fair scheduled to hold in last week of November 2020 will now hold in the first week of December.
