Following years of hard work and preparation by all spheres of

is designated for the manufacture of green technologies and related
services including wind and solar power technologies, alternative waste

Minister
of Trade and Industry, Rob Davies confirmed the designation of the SEZ
and the approval of cabinet in writing to MEC of Economic Opportunities
in Western Cape Minister Alan Winde.
Speaking to John Maytham, Winde said this was the process that everyone has been waiting for.
All the work that has been done over the last while goes to the
special economic zones, the advisory board to then have to be looking at
that work taking into account the effect it would have in South Africa
for the economy.
— Alan Winde, MEC of Economic Opportunities in Western Cape
For us its a really exciting step in the process because now we have
been given that run for designation. There are lots of opportunities in
the green economy.
