Finland has expressed desire to strengthen cooperation with Ethiopia in the areas of trade and development, the country’s Foreign Trade and Development Ministry announced.
Foreign Affairs State Minister, Aklilu Hailemichael held talks Tuesday with Finnish delegation led by State Minister Anne- Mari Virolainen on how to strengthen bilateral cooperation and Finland’s development support to Ethiopia.
Speaking to newsmen, Anne- Mari Virolainen, Finland head of delegation said the two countries had huge opportunities of cooperation.
“We have common projects in agriculture, water, sanitation, energy sectors, education and healthcare; so, we have a lot to work together,” she said.
She also noted that the visit was aimed at assessing the potential areas of trade and strengthening current development cooperation with Ethiopia.
Virolainen added that Finland desirous to share its experience in various sectors.
The delegation is expected to hold discussion with officials from Ministry of Finance and Economic Cooperation apart from visiting the development projects around Bahir Dar.
