Mnangagwa off to Russia, Davos to woo investors

Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa has left the country for Russia and the World Economic Forum in Davos to woo investors.
Mnangagwa said on his Facebook handle that he was “deeply saddened” by violent protests over a hike in fuel prices back home.
“Resolving Zimbabwe’s economic challenges is a monumental task, and while it may not always feel that way, we are moving in the right direction,”
Mnangagwa said.
Three people, including a police officer, died in violent demonstrations on Monday, after Mnangagwa increased the price of fuel
by more than 150 per cent.
Many Zimbabweans accuse Mnangagwa of failing to live up to pre-election pledges to kick-start economic growth.
They accused of failing to make a clean break from the alleged strong-arm rule of Robert Mugabe, who was forced out in November 2017 after 37 years in power.
