Kano state partners with France to boost agriculture

Kano State Government has said that it would continue to partner with the government France to improve agriculture and develop economic activities in the state.
Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje stated on Monday in Kano while receiving the France Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Jerome Pasquier.
In a statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Hassan Musa-Fagge, the governor listed some areas of importance.
According to the governor, who was represented by his Deputy, Dr Nasiru Yusuf-Gawuna, the area of importance include tropical agriculture and special agricultural processing programme, among others.
Ganduje thanked the government of France for its efforts in executing projects, particularly on rural access roads.
He called on investors to come to Kano and invest, saying that Kano was endowed with economic potentials, large population and vast land.
The governor also reiterated the commitment of his administration in sustaining the partnership in the education sector and on the provision of drinking water.
Earlier, Pasquier said he was in Kano to discuss how to improve agriculture and open more business activities in the state.
“Kano is a large market, and very important to us. Therefore, with the support of the state government, we are hoping of increasing France community presence in Kano,” he said.
He assured of his country’s continuous support and cooperation to Kano Government to enhance socio-economic activities.
