Aluminium, Feeds factories begin production

Sahel Aluminium Company in Potiskum and Yobe Flour and Feeds Mills have been revived by the Yobe government and have started production.

The Managing Director of the Aluminium company, Alhaji Muhammed Muhammed, said that the government approved N94 million for the resuscitation of the company.

“So, on Feb. 14, 2020, we were able to receive our pending 40 tonnes of raw materials, likewise, our first production machine which is  the ‘Steptile Machine’ is already here.

“We are waiting for the second machine which is the  ‘Netcopo Machine’ which we expect to arrive immediately after the COVID-19  pandemic.

“Before the resuscitation,  the production capacity was mainly 400 to 500 metres a day but after the resuscitation we are able to produce 15,000 metres a day,” he said.

Alhaji Ismail Musa, the Managing Director of Yobe Flour and Feeds Mills, also reported that the government released N80 million for the resuscitation of the  company.

“We are expecting to start producing 50 tonnes capacity per day,’’ Musa said.
