MAN wants a boost to P/Harcourt, Calabar, Warri ports

The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) has called on the federal government to pay more attention to Port Harcourt,  Calabar  and Warri  Ports to sustain the growth and development of the economy.

Mr. Mansur Ahmed, the President of MAN, at the 303rd National Council Meeting held in Port Harcourt that the event would deliberate on the current state of the manufacturing sector and the quick intervention needed to sustain the growth of the economy.

“The congestion and traffic gridlock still remain a challenge to Manufacturers especially at the Apapa corridor,

“We call on state and federal government to scale up measures to improve employment in the country, attention to these ports will create more job opportunities for the youth.

“The Rivers  Branch has called the federal government to make the Port in the state fully operational and give meaning to the helpdesk setup for Manufacturers,” Ahmed said.

He said that the political instability in plateau state challenged the  smooth conduct of business and posed insecurity to life and prosperity.

He also commended Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on its palliative to manufacturers to overcome the negative impact of COVID19.
