TCN starts restoration of national grid
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) says it has commenced restoration of the national grid which collapsed Wednesday morning.
Mrs Midi Mbah, TCN’s General Manager Public Affairs made this known on the company’s Twitter handle in Abuja on Wednesday.
Mbah said that the national electricity grid system collapsed on Wednesday morning at 1:21am leaving power generation to begin at 2,983 megawatts (MW) .
She however, said that the National Control Centre (NCC)has completed the repair of the grid, except that of the eastern axis which is ongoing.
She said: “TCN would commence investigations into the cause of the supply loss as soon as full recovery is achieved.
“We are committed to ensuring grid stability and consistent bulk power supply, especially at this time of the pandemic.” she said.
