{"id":52177,"date":"2023-08-10T17:26:04","date_gmt":"2023-08-10T17:26:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/?p=52177"},"modified":"2023-08-10T17:26:17","modified_gmt":"2023-08-10T17:26:17","slug":"pension-assets-records-n1-77trn-increase-in-first-half","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/old\/pension-assets-records-n1-77trn-increase-in-first-half\/","title":{"rendered":"Pension assets records N1.77trn increase in first half"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Abuja, July 10, 2023: The Pension assets have risen by N1.77 trillion in the first half of 2023, from N14.99 trillion in December 2022 to N16.76 trillion at the end of June 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Director General of National Pension Commission (PenCom),<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mrs Aisha Dahir-Umar, Director-General, made the disclosure at a conference organised for journalists covering the pension and finance in Abuja on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The theme of this year\u2019s workshop, \u201cTransforming Service Delivery in the Pension Industry: Strategies for Improving Efficiency and Customer Satisfaction.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dahir-Umar whom was represented by, the Head, Corporate Communications of PenCom, Mr Abdulqadir Dahiru, said membership also increased by 146,920 new contributors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She said that from 9.86 members as of the end of 2022 to over 10 million members as of June 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dahir-Umar said that PenCom was commitment to continuous service improvement in the pension industry so that contributors and retirees receive the best possible experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She said that PenCom\u2019s proactive regulatory approach has strengthened the oversight and governance of pension funds, promoting transparency, accountability and safeguarding the interests of pension contributors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dahir-Umar said that Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) has ensured that public and private sector workers can build retirement savings throughout their working lives, fostering financial security during their golden years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She also commended the journalists for their reportage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cLet us embrace the spirit of learning, collaboration, and progress throughout this event and beyond.\u201d Dahir-Umar said.<\/p>\n\n\n<!-- wp:themify-builder\/canvas \/-->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Abuja, July 10, 2023: The Pension assets have risen by N1.77 trillion in the first half of 2023, from N14.99 trillion in December 2022 to N16.76 trillion at the end of June 2023.
