{"id":50020,"date":"2023-04-27T04:55:21","date_gmt":"2023-04-27T04:55:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/?p=50020"},"modified":"2023-04-27T04:55:28","modified_gmt":"2023-04-27T04:55:28","slug":"delta-economic-zone-gets-official-licence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/old\/delta-economic-zone-gets-official-licence\/","title":{"rendered":"Delta economic zone gets official licence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The official licence of the Delta State Special Economic Zone (DSEZ) has been presented by the Nigeria Export Processing Zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The presentation was performed in Abuja on Wednesday at a ceremony where the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) model of the Free Trade Zone concept was described as more meaningful and beneficial to local investors and markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo, said at the ceremony that the Federal Government took a wise decision regarding the scheme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adebayo, represented by Mr S.A Jaja, Deputy Director, Trade in the ministry, said the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration had encouraged NEPZA to adopt the model for all-inclusive industrialisation process across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The minister further explained that the SEZ model was better positioned to both attract Foreign and Local Direct Investments into the free zone business ecosystem, adding that the model allowed for easy interface with the custom territory.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;He therefore, expressed delight on the giant step taken by the Delta State Government to embrace the economic model that had the capacity to unlock the state\u2019s wealth and growth potentials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adebayo also thanked Prof. Adesoji Adesugba, the Managing Director of NEPZA for his relentless passion in ensuring that all-state governments keyed into the free zone scheme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On his part, the governor of Delta State, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa, thanked President Buhari for approving the Delta State SEZ Licence, describing it as a milestone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Okowa said the state would leverage on the new business enclave to fully harness the potentials of the Koko Port, Kwale Industrial Park, and the Ogwashiku Agro-Allied Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The governor also said that the state would greatly rely on its comparative advantage in gas and crude oil deposits to also lure sustainable investments into the zone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adesugba, while delivering the licence to the governor, said the Authority was committed to further assisting the state in providing it with technical assistance and attracting world class investors into the zone.<\/p>\n\n<!--themify_builder_content-->\n<div id=\"themify_builder_content-50020\" data-postid=\"50020\" class=\"themify_builder_content themify_builder_content-50020 themify_builder tf_clear\">\n    <\/div>\n<!--\/themify_builder_content-->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The official licence of the Delta State Special Economic Zone (DSEZ) has been presented by the Nigeria Export Processing Zone.
