{"id":46958,"date":"2022-12-04T05:29:30","date_gmt":"2022-12-04T05:29:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/?p=46958"},"modified":"2022-12-04T05:29:34","modified_gmt":"2022-12-04T05:29:34","slug":"fcmb-posts-n26-5bn-profit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/old\/fcmb-posts-n26-5bn-profit\/","title":{"rendered":"FCMB posts N26.5bn profit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FCMB Group Plc has sustained its impressive financial performance across all indicators, achieving a 68.4% year-on-year growth in profit before tax of N26.5 billion for the nine months ended September 30, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is compared to N15.7 billion in the corresponding period of 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Highlights of the Group\u2019s unaudited nine-month results released on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, showed double-digit growth across all business segments: Banking Group 74.8%, Consumer Finance 30.8%, Investment Management 47.1%, and Investment Banking 220.9%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The diversified Group\u2019s gross revenue grew by 33.9% to \u20a6200.1 billion for the nine months that ended September 2022, compared to \u20a6149.5 billion in 2021. The key drivers were a 33.1% growth in interest income and 36.1% in non-interest income.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Net interest income also grew by 42.3% from \u20a665.4 billion in the first nine months of 2021 to \u20a693.1 billion in the corresponding period of 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Digital banking initiatives continue to gain traction across the Group\u2019s various businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They now account for 13.8% (\u20a627.6b) of gross earnings, 9.4% (\u20a614.4b) of interest income, 6.5% (\u20a677.0b) of the loan book and 7.3% (\u20a68.6b) of the AUM of its Asset Management business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Commenting on the results, the Group Chief Executive of FCMB Group Plc, Mr Ladi Balogun, said: \u201cWe continue to leverage our unique group structure to build a technology-driven ecosystem that fosters inclusive and sustainable growth in the communities we serve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This strategy enables us to deliver robust performance despite the challenging domestic and global environment.
