{"id":46397,"date":"2022-11-07T17:51:36","date_gmt":"2022-11-07T17:51:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/?p=46397"},"modified":"2022-11-07T17:51:42","modified_gmt":"2022-11-07T17:51:42","slug":"eurozone-finance-ministers-due-to-discuss-worsening-economic-outlook","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/old\/eurozone-finance-ministers-due-to-discuss-worsening-economic-outlook\/","title":{"rendered":"Eurozone finance ministers due to discuss worsening economic outlook"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Eurozone finance ministers are due to meet on Monday in Brussels to discuss the bloc\u2019s worsening economic outlook, including record inflation driven by soaring energy prices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In October, inflation hit 10.7 per cent in the eurozone, a new all-time high since the introduction of the common currency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The price of energy went up to 41.9 per cent compared with last year, according to European Commission figures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>European Central Bank (ECB) President Christine Lagarde recently said the likelihood of a recession in the 19 members of the eurozone in the coming months had increased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eurozone finance ministers are to discuss measures taken by the different member states to tackle high prices and how to coordinate measures in the future without further fuelling inflation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ministers would also hear the commission\u2019s first assessment of their national budget plans for 2023 and the expected impact of the different aid measures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting would also allow new Italian Finance Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti to meet his counterparts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Tuesday finance ministers of all 27 EU member states would be discussing in Brussels financial support for Ukraine and the reform of the bloc\u2019s joint budget rules among other topics.<\/p>\n\n<!--themify_builder_content-->\n<div id=\"themify_builder_content-46397\" data-postid=\"46397\" class=\"themify_builder_content themify_builder_content-46397 themify_builder tf_clear\">\n    <\/div>\n<!--\/themify_builder_content-->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Eurozone finance ministers are due to meet on Monday in Brussels to discuss the bloc\u2019s worsening economic outlook, including record inflation driven by soaring energy prices.
