{"id":45176,"date":"2022-09-05T19:31:21","date_gmt":"2022-09-05T19:31:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/?p=45176"},"modified":"2022-09-05T19:31:27","modified_gmt":"2022-09-05T19:31:27","slug":"dmo-offers-2-new-fgn-savings-bonds-at-n1000-per-unit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/old\/dmo-offers-2-new-fgn-savings-bonds-at-n1000-per-unit\/","title":{"rendered":"DMO offers 2 new FGN savings bonds at N1,000 per unit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Debt Management Office (DMO), on Monday, announced two new Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) savings bonds offer at N1,000 per unit for September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the DMO, on its website, the first one is a two-Year FGN Savings Bond due in Sept. 14, 2024, at interest rate of 11.04 per cent per annum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second offer is a three-year FGN savings bond due in Sept. 14, 2025, at interest rate 12.04 per cent per annum<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOffer opens on Sept. 5 and closes on Sept. 9. Settlement date is Sept. 14, while coupon payment dates are Dec. 14, March 14, June 14 and Sept. 14.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThey are subject to a minimum subscription of N5,000, and munulltiples of N1,000 thereafter, and subject to a maximum subscription of N50 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cInterest payment is made quarterly, while bullet repayment (principal amount) will be made on the maturity date,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It added that the the FGN savings bonds qualified as securities in which trustees could invest under the Trustee Investment Act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt also qualifies as government securities within the meaning of Company Income Tax Act (CITA) and Personal Income Tax Act (PITA) for Tax Exemption for Pension Funds, among other investors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt is backed by the full faith and credit of the Federal Government of Nigeria and charged upon the general assets of Nigeria,\u201d the DMO said.<\/p>\n\n<!--themify_builder_content-->\n<div id=\"themify_builder_content-45176\" data-postid=\"45176\" class=\"themify_builder_content themify_builder_content-45176 themify_builder tf_clear\">\n    <\/div>\n<!--\/themify_builder_content-->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Debt Management Office (DMO), on Monday, announced two new Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) savings bonds offer at N1,000 per unit for September.
