{"id":42298,"date":"2022-05-09T12:40:48","date_gmt":"2022-05-09T12:40:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/?p=42298"},"modified":"2022-05-09T12:40:55","modified_gmt":"2022-05-09T12:40:55","slug":"fuel-scarcity-long-queues-resurface-in-abuja","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/old\/fuel-scarcity-long-queues-resurface-in-abuja\/","title":{"rendered":"Fuel scarcity: Long queues resurface in Abuja &nbsp;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Most filling stations in Abuja have been shut down following scarcity of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly known as petrol. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The situation has caused long queues of vehicles at various filling stations in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The petrol supply situation in Wuse, Gwarimpa, Wuye and Kubwa areas of Abuja reports that long queues had resurfaced with most fueling station not selling to motorists. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A private car owner, Mr Alex Udoh, said that the queue resurfaced on Saturday and all his efforts to buy fuel failed. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Udoh urged government to find lasting solution to the lingering fuel scarcity because of its adverse effect on the national economy. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also called on all relevant authorities to maintain peace and order in filling stations and curb black marketing spots. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI do not know the reason for the scarcity again and it is annoying,\u201d said the motorists. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A taxi driver, Malam Yakubu Umar, said he had been at the petrol station for over five hours waiting to buy the product. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI bought black market yesterday and I did not make any profit,\u201d he lamented. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>None of the filling station operators responded to enquiries on the sudden scarcity of the product. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Nigeria National Petroleum Company (NNPC) is also yet to explain the cause of the scarcity and efforts to restore normalcy in the industry. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But reports say that the gap in supply was caused by the sallah holidays because many of the tanker drivers have yet to resume work. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<!--themify_builder_content-->\n<div id=\"themify_builder_content-42298\" data-postid=\"42298\" class=\"themify_builder_content themify_builder_content-42298 themify_builder tf_clear\">\n    <\/div>\n<!--\/themify_builder_content-->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Most filling stations in Abuja have been shut down following scarcity of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly known as petrol. &nbsp;
