{"id":42207,"date":"2022-05-03T18:52:28","date_gmt":"2022-05-03T18:52:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/?p=42207"},"modified":"2022-05-03T18:52:44","modified_gmt":"2022-05-03T18:52:44","slug":"akk-to-stimulate-gas-infrastructural-development-in-nigeria","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/old\/akk-to-stimulate-gas-infrastructural-development-in-nigeria\/","title":{"rendered":"AKK to stimulate gas infrastructural development in Nigeria"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Oilserv Ltd., Contractor handling the ongoing Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) gas pipeline project, says the project will stimulate gas infrastructural development and industrialisation in Nigeria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr Emeka Okwuosa, Chairman, Oilserv Ltd., said on Tuesdayin Abuja that the project spans a length of 614km.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is being developed by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd. (NNPC Ltd.) to transport natural gas from Ajaokuta, Kogi through other states and urban centres in Nigeria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project which began in 2020 and to be completed by the first quarter of 2023 is a segment of the Trans-Nigeria Gas Pipeline (TNGP) and the Trans Saharan gas pipeline project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AKK gas project, when completed would boost the agricultural and manufacturing sectors, carbon footprint as part of measures to cut down on global warming and provide gas for generation of power and gas-based industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said that the project aimed at transporting natural gas (raw form) which would enable production of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe project is important to Nigeria because gas is what will help Nigeria to develop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDevelopment cannot happen without energy and our greatest form of energy in terms of availability is gas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cGas is nothing without transportation you have to send it to where you need it and that\u2019s what we are doing to boost development in the country,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the contractor, the ongoing AKK gas pipeline is a good target to European markets in view of exploring opportunities of gas exportation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cYou can see what is happening in Europe because of Russian gas, everybody is scampering, but we have it,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Europe, the single-largest buyer of Russian energy, is weighing the likelihood of gas-supply disruptions as the war with Ukraine continues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a result of activities around the AKK project, the country will see over eight billion standard cubic feet (scf) of gas injected into the domestic pipeline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Group Managing Director of NNPC, Malam Mele Kyari, in the company of the NNPC board members recently inspected the segment \u201cA\u201d site of the project in Abaji Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).<\/p>\n\n<!--themify_builder_content-->\n<div id=\"themify_builder_content-42207\" data-postid=\"42207\" class=\"themify_builder_content themify_builder_content-42207 themify_builder tf_clear\">\n    <\/div>\n<!--\/themify_builder_content-->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Oilserv Ltd., Contractor handling the ongoing Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) gas pipeline project, says the project will stimulate gas infrastructural development and industrialisation in Nigeria.
