{"id":40729,"date":"2022-02-21T16:16:08","date_gmt":"2022-02-21T16:16:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/?p=40729"},"modified":"2022-02-21T16:16:12","modified_gmt":"2022-02-21T16:16:12","slug":"tanzania-lng-project-making-good-progress-shell","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/old\/tanzania-lng-project-making-good-progress-shell\/","title":{"rendered":"Tanzania LNG project making good progress- Shell &nbsp;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Shell executive on Monday said it had made good progress with Tanzanian government in recent months to advance a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) project to tap the East African country\u2019s huge gas resources. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shell\u2019s Head of Integrated Gas, Wael Sawan, said \u201cwe have seen some real quick progress over the last year compared to what had been a much slower progress before. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe continue to be hopeful that we can take this project all the way through to FID (Final Investment Decision) at some stage.\u2019\u2019 &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The development of Tanzania\u2019s vast offshore gas resources has been held up for years due to delays in government licensing agreements, but Sawan told reporters that some fiscal disputes \u201chave now been resolved.\u201d &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shell operates Block 1 and Block 4 off Tanzania, which hold 16 trillion cubic feet in estimated recoverable gas. It aims to develop an LNG project together with Norway\u2019s Equinor (EQNR.OL). &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Equinor also operates Block 2, in which ExxonMobil (XOM.N) also holds a stake and which is estimated to hold more than 20 trillion cubic feet of gas. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<!--themify_builder_content-->\n<div id=\"themify_builder_content-40729\" data-postid=\"40729\" class=\"themify_builder_content themify_builder_content-40729 themify_builder tf_clear\">\n    <\/div>\n<!--\/themify_builder_content-->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Shell executive on Monday said it had made good progress with Tanzanian government in recent months to advance a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) project to tap the East African country\u2019s huge gas resources. &nbsp;
