{"id":39250,"date":"2021-12-28T15:07:38","date_gmt":"2021-12-28T15:07:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/?p=39250"},"modified":"2021-12-28T15:07:43","modified_gmt":"2021-12-28T15:07:43","slug":"lawyer-urges-automation-of-shares-allotment-on-cac-portal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/old\/lawyer-urges-automation-of-shares-allotment-on-cac-portal\/","title":{"rendered":"Lawyer urges automation of shares allotment on CAC portal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Lagos based corporate lawyer, Mr Ogedi Ogu, has called for automation of shares allotment and increase on the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) portal to enhance service delivery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ogu in Lagos on Tuesday, said that even though there has been tremendous improvement on the CAC portal, as acknowledged by stakeholders, there was still room for improvement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI will like to commend the commission because 2021 has been a better year for lawyers having corporate dealings in the CAC, unlike what the experience was in 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe interface with the CAC portal has greatly improved; however, there is still tremendous work to be done<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFor instance, the CAC must devise a means whereby on its portal, one can increase share capital without having to send it through courier, email or to support units,\u201d he said<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The legal practitioner said that when such requests are sent through support units, it often takes a length of time to get feedbacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He, therefore, recommended the automation of this process on the CAC portal<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cUsually, when messages are sent to the support unit, it takes weeks to get a response, so if the portal is improved on to enable activities like increase in share capital and allotment, it will further enhance the process,\u201d he said<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This, Ogu said, would better promote corporate legal practice in Nigeria.<\/p>\n\n<!--themify_builder_content-->\n<div id=\"themify_builder_content-39250\" data-postid=\"39250\" class=\"themify_builder_content themify_builder_content-39250 themify_builder tf_clear\">\n    <\/div>\n<!--\/themify_builder_content-->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Lagos based corporate lawyer, Mr Ogedi Ogu, has called for automation of shares allotment and increase on the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) portal to enhance service delivery.
