{"id":37352,"date":"2021-10-17T03:49:49","date_gmt":"2021-10-17T03:49:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/?p=37352"},"modified":"2021-10-17T03:50:24","modified_gmt":"2021-10-17T03:50:24","slug":"trade-volume-peaks-in-dubai-airport-free-zone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/old\/trade-volume-peaks-in-dubai-airport-free-zone\/","title":{"rendered":"Trade volume peaks in Dubai Airport Free Zone"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Dubai Airport Free zone Authority\u2019s (DAFZA) contribution to Dubai&#8217;s non-oil foreign trade for the first-half of 2021 has reached 11 per cent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trade during the period surged 34 per cent to Dh77 billion, with a surplus of Dh6.2 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDubai is on track to achieve its foreign trade target of Dh2 trillion over the next five years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To realise this, it is strengthening foreign connections and adding 200 new cities to its network of global trade partners,\u201d said Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of DAFZA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn addition, DAFZA is continuing to grow its trade movement, with more strategic initiatives that elevate its services, customs facilities, as well as investment and commercial incentives.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Imports recorded a growth of 44.5 per cent in the first-half of the year compared to the corresponding period last year, reaching Dh35.4 billion. Imports represent 8.5 per cent of Dubai&#8217;s total imports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As for re-exports, DAFZA saw gains of 24 per cent to total Dh40.8 billion, representing 20.5 per cent of Dubai&#8217;s total non-oil foreign trade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;\u201cDAFZA&#8217;s results confirm the success of our efforts,\u201d said Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni, Director-General of tDubai Airport Freezone Authority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Electrical equipment are among the key commodities featured in DAFZA\u2019s trading. These saw a significant growth of 43 per cent compared to the previous year.
