{"id":32674,"date":"2021-08-17T16:39:51","date_gmt":"2021-08-17T15:39:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/?p=32674"},"modified":"2021-10-07T00:43:36","modified_gmt":"2021-10-07T00:43:36","slug":"farm-estate-to-generate-n2bn-annually-nalda","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/old\/farm-estate-to-generate-n2bn-annually-nalda\/","title":{"rendered":"Farm Estate to generate N2bn annually-NALDA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA) says the ongoing construction of the Integrated Farm Estate in Ogun will generate N2 billion when completed.<br \/>\nThe Executive Secretary of NALDA, Mr Paul Ikonne made this known in Abuja that the integrated Farm Estate would also engage 1500 beneficiaries.<br \/>\n\u201cThe farm estate which is set to be NALDA\u2019s biggest farm in fish, goat and snails production is located on a 100 hectares land in the state\u2019s Special Agro Industrial Zone, in Makun-Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of the State.<br \/>\n\u201cThe farm estate would comprise of Garri processing and packaging plants, snail farming, Goat rearing and fish farming,\u2019\u2019 he said.<br \/>\nIkonne said that the land clearing was done and mapped out for different activities such as crop farming zone, Cassava processing zone and fish processing zone.<br \/>\n\u201cSnail processing zone, warehouses, Fish pond, Snail farm, Poultry, Goat and Sheep pen, office area and pasture area for grazing the animal.\u201d<br \/>\nThe NALDA boss said that the farm is expected to be completed in February 2022 and would be the biggest due to its proximity to the commercial city of Lagos.<br \/>\n\u201cOgun is one of our key farm estate because of its proximity to the sea ports for export purposes and the farm estate would give Nigeria and Nigerians an image in food production,\u201d he said.<br \/>\nIkonne noted that the Farm estate would expose the host community to development and boost the living standards of the people in the area.<br \/>\nHe said that the Farm Estate would help reduce migration from the community to the urban areas, increase their incomes through agriculture and increase the GDP of the state.<br \/>\nHe further applauded President Muhammadu Buhari\u2019s visionary leadership in revolutionising agriculture in the country and for reviving NALDA.<br \/>\nHe said with the NALDA Farm Estate across the country Nigerian youths are in for good business.<br \/>\nThe NALDA boss said the farms are purely organic and would be fully mechanised with all year round farming activities.<br \/>\nHe added that irrigation system would be deployed to the farms, noting that the Ogun soil is high yielding.<\/p>\n<!--themify_builder_content-->\n<div id=\"themify_builder_content-32674\" data-postid=\"32674\" class=\"themify_builder_content themify_builder_content-32674 themify_builder tf_clear\">\n    <\/div>\n<!--\/themify_builder_content-->\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA) says the ongoing construction of the Integrated Farm Estate in Ogun will generate N2 billion when completed.
