{"id":31984,"date":"2021-07-11T12:30:42","date_gmt":"2021-07-11T11:30:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/?p=31984"},"modified":"2021-10-07T00:43:20","modified_gmt":"2021-10-07T00:43:20","slug":"nd-western-10000bpd-refinery-for-completion-in-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/old\/nd-western-10000bpd-refinery-for-completion-in-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"ND Western, 10,000bpd refinery for completion in 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An indigenous oil and gas company, ND Western Limited, says its 10,000 barrels per day refinery in Uturogu, Delta State will be completed by 2023.<br \/>\nMr Eberechukwu Oji, Managing Director, ND Western Limited, made the disclosure while speaking with newsmen at the sidelines of the Nigeria Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibition on Thursday in Abuja.<br \/>\nOji said: \u201d The Front End Engineering Design for the project which is a Joint Venture with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has been completed.<br \/>\n\u2018This will be followed by the taking of the Financial Investment Decision (FID) by the JV parties. This should happen within the next few months.<br \/>\n\u201cThe period of construction of a project of that size after the FID is about 24 months which means that we should be able to complete it by 2023.\u201d<br \/>\nAccording to him, the company began operation in 2011 after acquiring 45 per cent equity of some multinational companies JV with NNPC on OML 34.<br \/>\nOji disclosed that ND Western currently supplies over 20 per cent of gas to thermal plants across the country in support of the Federal Government\u2019s Gas-to-Power programme.<br \/>\nHe said the company was also planning to develop its midstream business by establishing Liquefied Petroleum Gas, Liquefied Natural Gas and Compressed Natural Gas plants.<br \/>\nOji noted that Nigeria\u2019s vast gas resources should be utilised for national development, adding that ND Western was committed to actualising this objectives.<br \/>\nOn the passage of the Petroleum Industry Bill ( PIB), he said the National Assembly should be commended for taking the bold step after several years of delay.<br \/>\nOji said the passage of the PIB was one of the best things that have happened to the industry in a long time despite some of the grey areas in the current draft.<\/p>\n<!--themify_builder_content-->\n<div id=\"themify_builder_content-31984\" data-postid=\"31984\" class=\"themify_builder_content themify_builder_content-31984 themify_builder tf_clear\">\n    <\/div>\n<!--\/themify_builder_content-->\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An indigenous oil and gas company, ND Western Limited, says its 10,000 barrels per day refinery in Uturogu, Delta State will be completed by 2023.
