{"id":31285,"date":"2021-06-17T13:28:19","date_gmt":"2021-06-17T12:28:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/?p=31285"},"modified":"2021-10-07T00:43:08","modified_gmt":"2021-10-07T00:43:08","slug":"petroleum-marketers-see-nlng-train-7-project-as-game-changer-for-gas-utilisation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/old\/petroleum-marketers-see-nlng-train-7-project-as-game-changer-for-gas-utilisation\/","title":{"rendered":"Petroleum marketers see NLNG Train 7 project as game changer for gas utilisation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) says the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) \u2018Train 7\u2019 project, is a game changer for gas utilisation in Nigeria. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>IPMAN\u2019S President, Mr Chinedu Okoronkwo, said on Thursday in Lagos. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday performed the ground breaking of the Train 7 project construction, as part of efforts to transform Nigeria to a gas-powered economy by 2030. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Okoronkwo said IPMAN was delighted with the vigour the Federal Government was deploying in actualising the National Gas Policy of 2007. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are very happy that the Train 7 project is moving toward becoming a reality with the ground breaking conducted on Tuesday by the President. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe project is a game changer because it will play a critical role in the utilisation of Nigeria\u2019s abundant gas resources for national development,\u201d he said. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Okoronkwo further noted that the project would create job opportunities for young Nigerians in Engineering, procurement and construction as well as boost local capacity in the oil and gas industry. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>He said the declaration of Year 2021 to Year 2030 as the \u201cDecade of Gas Development\u201d by the government would also be given a boost by such projects. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Okoronkwo reiterated that IPMAN would continue to support efforts to deepen gas utilisation in the country. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>He said: \u201cWe (IPMAN) have a collaboration pact with Petroleum Equalisation Fund on how to help marketers distribute gas to the nooks and crannies of the country. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe deal entails funding and co-location of mini-depots in existing facilities and suitable locations owned by IPMAN members. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe target is to set up 100 plants each in Lagos, Kano, Port Harcourt and Enugu and 50 each in other states under the first phase.\u201d &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Train 7 project will ramp up NLNG\u2019s production capacity by 35 per cent from 22 million MTPA to around 30 million MTPA. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>The project is anticipated to create about 12,000 new jobs and an additional 40,000 indirect jobs. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<!--themify_builder_content-->\n<div id=\"themify_builder_content-31285\" data-postid=\"31285\" class=\"themify_builder_content themify_builder_content-31285 themify_builder tf_clear\">\n    <\/div>\n<!--\/themify_builder_content-->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) says the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) \u2018Train 7\u2019 project, is a game changer for gas utilisation in Nigeria. &nbsp; IPMAN\u2019S President, Mr Chinedu Okoronkwo, said on Thursday in Lagos. &nbsp; President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday performed the ground breaking of the Train 7 project construction, as [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":24427,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[18],"class_list":["post-31285","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-uncategorized","tag-nigeria","has-post-title","has-post-date","has-post-category","has-post-tag","has-post-comment","has-post-author",""],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v23.7 -
