{"id":30488,"date":"2021-05-18T11:04:55","date_gmt":"2021-05-18T10:04:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/?p=30488"},"modified":"2021-10-07T00:42:52","modified_gmt":"2021-10-07T00:42:52","slug":"assets-of-contributory-pension-scheme-increase-by-n92b","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/old\/assets-of-contributory-pension-scheme-increase-by-n92b\/","title":{"rendered":"Assets of contributory pension scheme increase by N92b"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The assets of Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) have increased to N92 billion in March, the National Pension Commission (PenCom), reported in its official website.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>PenCom posted in the unaudited report on pension funds industry portfolio for the period ended in March 31, 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>The commission recorded a decline of N51.30 billion in the pension fund assets in February.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>According to the report, the funds which ended February at N12.248 trillion rose to N12.34 trillion at the end of March.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>The report also revealed data on the approved existing schemes, Closed Pension Fund Administrators and Retirement Savings Funds including unremitted contributions at Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and legacy funds.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Financial and pension Expert, Mrs Halima Idris, said that the pension assets has picked up from a decline N51.30 billion in February to an increase to N92 billion in March which shows progress.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Idris said that the Pension Acts allows them to invest in the country\u2019s economy, security, mutual funds among others, of which the market is not a stable.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Idris commended efforts of the government for the huge increase and urged Nigerians to be patient as the government was trying hard to safe their money.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>The total registration for Retirement Saving Account (RSA) at March was 9,300,058.<\/p>\n<!--themify_builder_content-->\n<div id=\"themify_builder_content-30488\" data-postid=\"30488\" class=\"themify_builder_content themify_builder_content-30488 themify_builder tf_clear\">\n    <\/div>\n<!--\/themify_builder_content-->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The assets of Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) have increased to N92 billion in March, the National Pension Commission (PenCom), reported in its official website.
