{"id":30447,"date":"2021-05-17T05:21:35","date_gmt":"2021-05-17T04:21:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/?p=30447"},"modified":"2021-05-17T05:21:35","modified_gmt":"2021-05-17T04:21:35","slug":"union-forces-tcn-to-shut-electricity-supply-to-kaduna-state","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/old\/union-forces-tcn-to-shut-electricity-supply-to-kaduna-state\/","title":{"rendered":"Union forces TCN to shut electricity supply to Kaduna state"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Tanko Mohammed<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) on Sunday said the ongoing industrial action in Kaduna State had resulted in the interruption of bulk electricity supply across the state.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Mrs Ndidi Mbah, TCN\u2019s General Manager, Public Affairs made this known in a statement in Abuja.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Mbah said&nbsp; TCN resisted intense pressure from the union on Saturday, demanding that all 33 Kilo Volt (KV) feeders radiating from its substations within the state be switched off.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cRegrettably, the union functionaries returned today with similar demands amid palpable threats that can escalate and jeopardise national grid security.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt was during today\u2019s encounter that the system operators were forced to shut down the 33kV feeders from 6:36Hrs.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cBefore this, Kaduna Disco had earlier shut down its 11kV feeders, which it started de-loading from 3 am today,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>The general manager said that TCN was mindful of the inconveniences the shutdown would cause electricity customers within the state.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>According to her, TCN prays for a peaceful resolution between the parties to enable the restoration of bulk power supply to the company\u2019s substations.
