{"id":29545,"date":"2021-04-12T03:45:47","date_gmt":"2021-04-12T02:45:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/?p=29545"},"modified":"2021-10-07T00:24:39","modified_gmt":"2021-10-07T00:24:39","slug":"sec-engages-stakeholders-on-fintech-roadmap-implementation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/old\/sec-engages-stakeholders-on-fintech-roadmap-implementation\/","title":{"rendered":"SEC engages stakeholders on fintech roadmap implementation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Moses Uwagbale<\/p>\n\n\n<p>The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is to discuss issues concerning the implementation of the financial technology roadmap in the market in its forthcoming committee meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>A statement by the commission in Abuja on Sunday says the 2021 Capital Market Committee (CMC) meeting would also discuss the 10-year market master plan.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>The commission said the virtual meeting is scheduled for April 15 and April 16.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>It added participants would include Chief Executive Officers of all registered capital market firms like broker\/dealers, investment advisers and custodians.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Other participants are fund\/portfolio managers, receiving banks, issuing houses, rating agencies, registrars, reporting accountants, trustees, and Capital Market Consultants.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201dThe CMC was primarily established to serve as a medium for exchange of ideas among market stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201dIt is also an avenue for providing feedback to the SEC on how to continuously address challenges, improve market operations and enhance the regulatory framework.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201dIt is an industry-wide committee comprising members of the SEC, representatives of capital market operators and trade groups and other stakeholders,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>SEC had unveiled the 10-year plan in 2014 and had continued to implement the initiatives designed to reposition the country\u2019s capital market as an attractive investment destination.<\/p>\n<!--themify_builder_content-->\n<div id=\"themify_builder_content-29545\" data-postid=\"29545\" class=\"themify_builder_content themify_builder_content-29545 themify_builder tf_clear\">\n    <\/div>\n<!--\/themify_builder_content-->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Moses Uwagbale The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is to discuss issues concerning the implementation of the financial technology roadmap in the market in its forthcoming committee meeting.
