{"id":29527,"date":"2021-04-10T07:47:12","date_gmt":"2021-04-10T06:47:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/?p=29527"},"modified":"2021-10-07T00:24:38","modified_gmt":"2021-10-07T00:24:38","slug":"bayelsa-oil-gas-park-to-create-2000-jobs-sylva","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/old\/bayelsa-oil-gas-park-to-create-2000-jobs-sylva\/","title":{"rendered":"Bayelsa oil, gas park to create 2,000 jobs \u2013 Sylva"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Loveth Okoli<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Chief Timipre Sylva, Minister of State For Petroleum Resources, has said the Nigerian Oil and Gas Park Scheme (NOGAPS) at Emeyal, Ogbia Local Government Area, Bayelsa will create at least 2,000 jobs on completion.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Sylva, who visited the NOGAPS site to ascertain the pace of work, said the project which is 70 per cent completed,&nbsp; would be ready for inauguration by the fourth quarter of 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp; groundbreaking&nbsp; ceremony for the project was performed on May 4, 2018 by then Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr Ibe Kachikwu.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>He said that when it begins full operation, it will create a regional low-cost manufacturing hub that will produce equipment components and spare parts to be utilised in the nation\u2019s oil and gas industry.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cI must say I\u2019m very impressed with what&nbsp; I have seen today. Once upon a time this place used to be a swamp.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cPresident Muhammadu Buhari has promised to bring jobs to our people because we believe that job creation can also solve the problem of the Niger Delta Region. President Buhari is living up and doing just that.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are certain that within the life of this administration this project will be settled and commissioned.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, (NCDMB) has done very well. Before the establishment of this Board, local participation was just about three per cent but today they have taken it to over 30 per cent and the trajectory is to boost it to 70 per cent within a few years from now.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis place, when completed, can create 2000 jobs, and this is just one of many we have across the country,\u201d the minister said.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Sylva applauded the host community for a sustained&nbsp; atmosphere of peace, adding that the feat could not have been attained without peace.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Also speaking, Mr Simbi Wabote, Executive Secretary of the NCDMB, commended the minister for his drive towards the success of the project.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is possible because of the support you have given to this project since becoming minister of State For Petroleum Resources and that is responsible for the swift pace of work we are seeing here today.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cNOGAPS is the NCDMB\u2019s flagship project, which is in line with the Federal Government\u2019s mandate to develop indigenous capacities for the oil and gas Industry.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201dThe policy of President Buhari-led Federal Government to drive towards opening up local manufacturing in the country is one sure way of driving economic development,\u201d Wabote said.<\/p>\n<!--themify_builder_content-->\n<div id=\"themify_builder_content-29527\" data-postid=\"29527\" class=\"themify_builder_content themify_builder_content-29527 themify_builder tf_clear\">\n    <\/div>\n<!--\/themify_builder_content-->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Loveth Okoli Chief Timipre Sylva, Minister of State For Petroleum Resources, has said the Nigerian Oil and Gas Park Scheme (NOGAPS) at Emeyal, Ogbia Local Government Area, Bayelsa will create at least 2,000 jobs on completion.
