{"id":29402,"date":"2021-04-04T08:34:32","date_gmt":"2021-04-04T07:34:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/?p=29402"},"modified":"2021-04-04T08:34:32","modified_gmt":"2021-04-04T07:34:32","slug":"striking-staff-resume-work-keep-shoprite-afloat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/old\/striking-staff-resume-work-keep-shoprite-afloat\/","title":{"rendered":"Striking staff resume work, keep Shoprite afloat"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The striking workers of Shoprite malls have suspended their action pending a final settlement of their grievances by April 19.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Retail activity at the popular mall along Airport Road in Abuja commenced as&nbsp; workers of the chain store conglomerate called off their protest which paralysed activities at their malls across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>The decision was arrived at after a meeting between the representatives of the union&nbsp; and the new management.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Both parties resolved to commence formal negotiations on April 19 at an all-encompassing meeting that will address all outstanding issues bothering on their payment.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>The workers, under the aegis of National Union of Shop and Distributive Employees (NUSDE), had vowed that the company would be&nbsp; shut if the&nbsp; management fails to accede to their demands.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur leaders&nbsp; met with members of the new management of the company on Saturday , where they agreed to discuss more on April 19,\u2019\u2019 a senior member of staff said.<\/p>\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/leadership.ng\/shoprite-reopens-staff-management-to-settle-dispute-april-19\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/leadership.ng\/shoprite-reopens-staff-management-to-settle-dispute-april-19\/\">More<\/a><\/p>\n\n<!-- wp:themify-builder\/canvas \/-->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The striking workers of Shoprite malls have suspended their action pending a final settlement of their grievances by April 19.
