{"id":29233,"date":"2021-03-27T04:39:05","date_gmt":"2021-03-27T03:39:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/?p=29233"},"modified":"2021-10-07T00:24:33","modified_gmt":"2021-10-07T00:24:33","slug":"association-expresses-commitment-to-transparent-lawful-fx-transactions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/old\/association-expresses-commitment-to-transparent-lawful-fx-transactions\/","title":{"rendered":"Association expresses commitment to transparent, lawful FX transactions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tanko Mohammed<\/p>\n\n\n<p>The Association of Bureau De Change Operators of Nigeria (ABCON) has expressed its commitment to transparent and lawful foreign exchange transactions.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Alhaji Aminu Gwadabe, President of ABCON, disclosed this in a statement in Lagos against the backdrop of alleged infractions by some of its members.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Gwadabe noted that some of its members had been invited by security agents on allegations of unlawful forex transactions.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>He said that the association had been in contact with the authorities concerned and found out that the investigations were bordering on money laundering, terrorism financing and Know Your Customers status.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cABCON considers these as serious allegations given the security challenges across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe strongly identify with the desire of every responsible citizen for thorough investigations, with the authorities following every possible lead and taking necessary measures that will improve the security situation in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe, however, appeal to security agents to expedite their work and ensure that innocent people that have been caught up in this investigation can be identified quickly and released, so that they can be reunited with their families.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe also trust that the authorities will follow the rule of law and ensure that those with a case to answer have their day in court.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201c The rule of law is the foundation upon which every functional society stands,\u201d Gwadabe said.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>He expressed ABCON\u2019s readiness to cooperate fully with the relevant authorities to ensure its members\u2019 businesses were not exploited for any form of malpractice against the laws of the land.<\/p>\n<!--themify_builder_content-->\n<div id=\"themify_builder_content-29233\" data-postid=\"29233\" class=\"themify_builder_content themify_builder_content-29233 themify_builder tf_clear\">\n    <\/div>\n<!--\/themify_builder_content-->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tanko Mohammed The Association of Bureau De Change Operators of Nigeria (ABCON) has expressed its commitment to transparent and lawful foreign exchange transactions.
