{"id":28227,"date":"2021-02-17T18:21:24","date_gmt":"2021-02-17T17:21:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/?p=28227"},"modified":"2021-10-07T00:24:12","modified_gmt":"2021-10-07T00:24:12","slug":"morocco-gets-energy-grant-of-965000-from-afdb","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/old\/morocco-gets-energy-grant-of-965000-from-afdb\/","title":{"rendered":"Morocco gets energy grant of $965,000 from AfDB"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Anthony Areh<\/p>\n\n\n<p>The African Development Bank (AfDB) is providing a US$965,000 grant to Morocco\u2019s Super Energy Service Company to support the firm\u2019s growth plans.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>The Bank said the deal was sealed on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>The grant will provide Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 d\u2019Ing\u00e9nierie Energ\u00e9tique (SIE) with operational tools to develop a pipeline of bankable energy efficient investment projects, said Brice Mikpomhpoue, Officer in Charge at the North Africa Regional Development and Business Delivery Office of the AfDB.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>AfDB, Africa\u2019s multilateral lender, said the grant was channelled through its Sustainable Energy Fund for Africa (SEFA).<\/p>\n\n\n<p>SEFA is an AfDB-managed special fund, providing finance for renewable energy. SIE is transiting into the first Super Energy Service Company (ESCO) initiative in Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis support from the African Development Bank will create a model well aligned with the needs of the country\u2019s energy efficiency sector,\u201d said the company\u2019s Chief Executive Officer, Ahmed Baroudi.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Amid growing demand, Morocco aims to meet its energy needs by combining large-scale energy efficiency strategies and renewable energy investments, the Bank said.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Super ESCOs are vehicles for channelling funds into public sector energy efficiency investments such as hospitals, schools and street lighting, laying the foundation for private investment later in the commercial and industrial sectors.<\/p>\n<!--themify_builder_content-->\n<div id=\"themify_builder_content-28227\" data-postid=\"28227\" class=\"themify_builder_content themify_builder_content-28227 themify_builder tf_clear\">\n    <\/div>\n<!--\/themify_builder_content-->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Anthony Areh The African Development Bank (AfDB) is providing a US$965,000 grant to Morocco\u2019s Super Energy Service Company to support the firm\u2019s growth plans.
