{"id":27000,"date":"2020-12-18T09:12:37","date_gmt":"2020-12-18T08:12:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/?p=27000"},"modified":"2021-10-07T00:23:44","modified_gmt":"2021-10-07T00:23:44","slug":"immigration-complies-with-directive-on-border-re-opening","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/old\/immigration-complies-with-directive-on-border-re-opening\/","title":{"rendered":"Immigration complies with directive on border re-opening"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Tanko Mohammed<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<p>The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has complied with the Federal Government\u2019s directive on re-opening of land borders in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>A statement signed by the NIS Public Relations Officer, Mr Sunday James, on Friday in Abuja said: \u201cIn compliance with the directive of the Federal Government, the following four land borders have been re-opened.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<p>He listed the borders as Seme in South-West, Illela in the North-West, Maigatari in the North-West and North-East and Mfum, South-South respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>It said that the borders were immediately re-opened in the first phase, since the closure of land borders on Aug. 20 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>According to the statement, the Comptroller General of NIS had also directed the head of the service formation at these borders posts to comply and remove restrictions of human movement.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>It said that the head of the service formation at these borders must avoid unethical practices and unprofessional conducts.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>It added that all persons entering or exiting the country must hold a valid travel documents as prescribed in the immigration Act 2015 and to observe COVID-19 protocols.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>The service enjoined travellers in the statement to pass through only these four designated authorised borders posts pending the re-opening of others.<\/p>\n<!--themify_builder_content-->\n<div id=\"themify_builder_content-27000\" data-postid=\"27000\" class=\"themify_builder_content themify_builder_content-27000 themify_builder tf_clear\">\n    <\/div>\n<!--\/themify_builder_content-->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Tanko Mohammed The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has complied with the Federal Government\u2019s directive on re-opening of land borders in the country.
