{"id":26968,"date":"2020-12-17T13:24:42","date_gmt":"2020-12-17T12:24:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/?p=26968"},"modified":"2021-10-07T00:23:44","modified_gmt":"2021-10-07T00:23:44","slug":"abia-kebbi-kwara-residents-pay-highest-for-petrol","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/old\/abia-kebbi-kwara-residents-pay-highest-for-petrol\/","title":{"rendered":"Abia, Kebbi, Kwara residents pay highest for petrol"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Chris Ndibe<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<p>The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) says Abia, Kebbi and Kwara residents paid the highest amount for petrol (Premium Motor Spirit) in the country in November.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>The bureau stated this in its \u201cPremium Motor Spirit (Petrol) Price Watch\u201d publication for November and released on its website on Thursday in Abuja.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>According to NBS, Abia residents paid N178.70 per litre for the product while Kebbi residents paid N174.76 and Kwara residents N172.33.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>It, however, stated that Zamfara paid N161.73, Bauchi -N161.78 and Kaduna \u2013 N163.83 per litre being the lowest average prices for the product.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>NBS further stated that the average price paid by consumers for petrol increased by 14.62 per cent year-on-year and month-on-month by 3.79 per cent to N167.27 in November from N161.17 in October.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Similarly, the average price paid by consumers for Automotive Gas Oil (Diesel) increased by 1.79 per cent month-on-month and decreased by -0.59 per cent year-on-year to N223.74 in November from N219.80 in October.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>The bureau said that states with the highest average price of diesel in the month under review were Benue at N263.33, Kebbi at N258.57 and Taraba at N251.67.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>The lowest average price of diesel which is N182.50 was in Kwara, followed by N192.67 in Osun and N196.33 in Nasarawa.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Fieldwork for the report was done by more than 700 NBS staff in all states of the federation supported by supervisors who were monitored by internal and external observers.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Fuel prices were collected across all the 774 local governments across all states and the FCT from over 10,000 respondents and locations.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>The price reflected actual prices households bought fuel together with the prices reportedly sold by the fuel suppliers.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>The average of all these prices was then reported for each state and the average for the country was the average for the state.<\/p>\n<!--themify_builder_content-->\n<div id=\"themify_builder_content-26968\" data-postid=\"26968\" class=\"themify_builder_content themify_builder_content-26968 themify_builder tf_clear\">\n    <\/div>\n<!--\/themify_builder_content-->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Chris Ndibe The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) says Abia, Kebbi and Kwara residents paid the highest amount for petrol (Premium Motor Spirit) in the country in November.
