{"id":26537,"date":"2020-11-27T17:38:45","date_gmt":"2020-11-27T16:38:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/?p=26537"},"modified":"2020-11-27T17:38:45","modified_gmt":"2020-11-27T16:38:45","slug":"eni-confirms-explosion-cuts-agips-output-by-30000-barrels-daily","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/old\/eni-confirms-explosion-cuts-agips-output-by-30000-barrels-daily\/","title":{"rendered":"Eni confirms explosion cuts Agip\u2019s output by 30,000 barrels daily"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By Anthony Areh&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<p>The Nigerian Agip Oil Company (NAOC) has said&nbsp;&nbsp;the Nov. 20 explosion at its oil field in Bayelsa would adversely impact crude export to the tune of 30,000 barrels daily.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>The incident has put the cumulative production shut in at 180,000 at the field pending when the breached pipelines are fixed.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Vandals had attacked oil facilities operated by Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) and NAOC at Ikarama community, Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>The management of Eni, parent company of NAOC in an email statement to said the oil firm had declared \u2018Force Majeure\u2019 on oil exports from its Brass Oil Export Terminal.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Force Majeure is a legal clause inserted in contracts to absolve a company from liabilities arising from factors beyond its control.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>According to Eni, preliminary checks at the facility indicate that the vandals used explosives in the attack which blew up two vital pipelines, leading to shutdown of oil production from the field.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe confirm two sabotage events by means of explosive devices, which damaged two pipelines in the swamp area in the night between Friday 20th and Saturday 21st.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cProduction was stopped immediately after the event; consequently the emergency response team has been mobilised and able to contain the spill with booms few hours later.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cRepair activity, oil spill recovery and clean-up are ongoing.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cFull production resumption is estimated in one week time.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cImpact on production is estimated at 30,000 barrel of oil equivalent daily (boed) of which Eni\u2019s share amounts approximately to 6,000 boed.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cForce majeure was declared on Brass terminal to notify contractually the export tankers about the delays in the lifting schedule of about one week on the original plan.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cRegulatory agencies and Government security agencies have been notified and are investigating,\u201d Eni stated.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Anthony Areh&nbsp; The Nigerian Agip Oil Company (NAOC) has said&nbsp;&nbsp;the Nov. 20 explosion at its oil field in Bayelsa would adversely impact crude export to the tune of 30,000 barrels daily.&nbsp; The incident has put the cumulative production shut in at 180,000 at the field pending when the breached pipelines are fixed.&nbsp; Vandals had [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":26538,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[235,126],"tags":[426],"class_list":["post-26537","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-resources","category-trade-and-industry","tag-naoc","has-post-title","has-post-date","has-post-category","has-post-tag","has-post-comment","has-post-author",""],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v23.7 -
