{"id":25497,"date":"2020-10-06T10:51:27","date_gmt":"2020-10-06T09:51:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/?p=25497"},"modified":"2020-10-06T10:51:27","modified_gmt":"2020-10-06T09:51:27","slug":"nepza-tasks-new-staff-on-work-ethics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/old\/nepza-tasks-new-staff-on-work-ethics\/","title":{"rendered":"NEPZA tasks new staff on work ethics"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/NEPZA.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-25498\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/NEPZA.jpg 600w, https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/NEPZA-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/NEPZA-150x100.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n<p><strong>By Chris Ndibe<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<p>The Managing Director, Nigeria Export Processing Authority (NEPZA), Prof. Adesoji Adesugba has urged new staff of the Authority to align their thinking with the agency\u2019s vision, mission and mandate for sustainable high productivity.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>At the flag-off a 4-day Induction and Training programme organized for the new staff on Monday in Abuja, he said it was incumbent on the Authority to build the capacity of the new staff for effective management of tasks.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>A statement by Mr Martins Odeh, Head, Corporate Communications, NEPZA, reported that Adesugba said that the staff must, however, apply their faculties to learn, retain and display expertise in free zone matters.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>He explained that the Authority would not be patience with any workers who displaced indolence, and worked to destroy the system instead of helping to build it.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>&#8220;This is a frontline agency that the government relies on for economic growth and industrialization, so for you to be relevant here you must seek to continually build your skills and knowledge on how to operate on this turf.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>&#8220;You will be confronted with all manner of challenges as you prospect investors, nurture and manage them in line with NEPZA Act. You will also have to contend with some sisters\u2019 agencies who may want to trespass the zones and so on. Your responsibility, therefore, is to educate and sensitize them on the free zone concept.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The knowledge you would obtain from this laudable training and induction would come handy someday very soon. We are committed to repositioning the Authority for effective performance and nothing less than this shall be tolerated\u2019\u2019, Adesugba said.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>The training is aimed at a proper indoctrination of the 270 persons employed by the Authority in July 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>The event which is billed to also take place in Lagos, Calabar and Kano respectively would expose the fresh staff to the operations of Free Trade Zone scheme in accordance with global standard.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Some of the deliverables to be considered include: &#8220;Introduction to the rudiments of Free Zone Scheme\u2019\u2019, &#8220;Major Trends in Free Zones Development\u2019\u2019,<\/p>\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Rational for Free Trade Zone Development\u2019\u2019, &#8220;Modeling Free Trade Zone with Business Opportunities\u2019\u2019, &#8220;X-ray the Law Establishing Free Trade Zones In Nigeria\u2019\u2019, and &#8220;Investors Services and Investment Promotion\u2019\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Others include: &#8220;ICT in the Free Trade Zone Ecosystem\u2019\u2019, &#8220;Service Delivery Policy in Public Service\u2019\u2019, &#8220;Communication Process\u2019\u2019 as well as &#8220;Programme and Project Cycle\u2019\u2019.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Chris Ndibe The Managing Director, Nigeria Export Processing Authority (NEPZA), Prof. Adesoji Adesugba has urged new staff of the Authority to align their thinking with the agency\u2019s vision, mission and mandate for sustainable high productivity.
