\n\u201cThe aid was aimed at stabilising the
\nwar-torn country\u2019s economy and increasing the value of the Yemeni
\ncurrency to alleviate the suffering of Yemenis.<\/u><\/u><\/div>\n

\n\u201cThe funds were approved by Saudi King Salman upon a request from Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi,\u2019\u2019 the report said.<\/u><\/u><\/div>\n

\nThe plunging riyal has led to a surge in
\nfood and fuel prices that triggered demonstrations last month and
\nprompted a hike in interest rates.<\/u><\/u><\/div>\n

\nThe impoverished Arab country has been
\nlocked in a civil war since the Iranian-backed Shiite Houthi rebels
\nseized all Northern provinces, including capital Sanaa, in 2014.<\/u><\/u><\/div>\n

\nSaudi Arabia leads an Arab military
\ncoalition that intervened in Yemen\u2019s civil war in 2015 to support the
\ngovernment of President Hadi after the Houthi rebels forced him into
\nexile.<\/u><\/u><\/div>\n

\nThe United Nations has listed Yemen as
\nthe world\u2019s top humanitarian crisis, with 7 million Yemenis on the brink
\n of famine and a cholera outbreak killing over 2,000 people.
