{"id":22032,"date":"2020-04-22T15:59:09","date_gmt":"2020-04-22T14:59:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/?p=22032"},"modified":"2020-04-22T15:59:09","modified_gmt":"2020-04-22T14:59:09","slug":"ports-authority-gets-protective-materials","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/old\/ports-authority-gets-protective-materials\/","title":{"rendered":"Ports Authority gets protective materials"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By Moses Uwagbale<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<p>Five Star Logistics has supported the fight against coronavirus at the seaports with the donation of hand sanitizers and facemasks worth N20 million.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Mr Rigo Nazarri, General Manager, Comet Shipping Agencies, a sister-company of FiveStar Logistics, said in the statement that the items had been presented at the Tin Can Port Complex of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis donation of 1200 packs of hand sanitizers and 1600 packs of face masks worth N20 million is our contribution to the fight against coronavirus pandemic in Nigeria,\u201d Nazarri said.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>He said that a sum of N75 million was also given to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)\/ Private Sector Coalition against COVID 19.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Nazarri said that the gesture was part of the organization\u2019s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and in line with the government\u2019s effort to rid the nation of the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>According to the statement, the Port Manager, Tin Can Island Port, Mr Abubakar Umar, who received the items on behalf of the NPA management, commended Five Star Logistics for the donation.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>He pointed out that the donation would go a long way in supporting NPA and the Federal Government\u2019s effort in the fight against coronavirus disease at the nation\u2019s seaports.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe appreciate your collaboration with us and for sharing in the Federal Government\u2019s commitment in fighting against COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe items donated are relevant to the fight against COVID-19, especially for port officials and stakeholders like truck drivers,\u201d Umar said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Moses Uwagbale Five Star Logistics has supported the fight against coronavirus at the seaports with the donation of hand sanitizers and facemasks worth N20 million.
