{"id":21947,"date":"2020-04-17T15:03:00","date_gmt":"2020-04-17T14:03:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/?p=21947"},"modified":"2020-04-17T15:03:00","modified_gmt":"2020-04-17T14:03:00","slug":"nigeria-others-for-debt-relief-of-g20-china","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/old\/nigeria-others-for-debt-relief-of-g20-china\/","title":{"rendered":"Nigeria, others for debt relief of G20, China"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By Chris Ndibe<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<p>G20 countries, World Bank and China, have resolved to offer debt service waiver to Nigeria and 75 other countries.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>The decision was taken at the meeting of G20 on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;\u201cWe will benefit to the extent that the principal and interest repayments falling due which to our understanding is a debt service suspension (not forgiveness) until the end of 2020.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe G20 expressed support for a time-bound suspension of debt service payments for the poorest countries that request forbearance.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cThey agreed on a coordinated approach with a common term sheet providing the key features for this debt service suspension initiative, which is also agreed by the Paris Club\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>The G20 are Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Germany, France, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, UK and the United States (U.S.).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Chris Ndibe G20 countries, World Bank and China, have resolved to offer debt service waiver to Nigeria and 75 other countries.
