{"id":21946,"date":"2020-04-17T10:42:42","date_gmt":"2020-04-17T09:42:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/?p=21946"},"modified":"2020-04-17T10:42:42","modified_gmt":"2020-04-17T09:42:42","slug":"afan-secures-150-tractors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/old\/afan-secures-150-tractors\/","title":{"rendered":"AFAN secures 150 tractors"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By Chris Ndibe<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<p>The All Farmers Association of Nigeria&nbsp;&nbsp;(AFAN) has secured 150 tractors from the Federal Government to enhance farming activities across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>The AFAN National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Abdulhafiz Alkali, disclosed that the tractors were provided by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture in collaboration with Nigeria Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending through Machines and Equipment Consortium Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>He said that the new leadership of AFAN under Alhaji Faruk Rabiu-Mudi, since inception, embarked on partnerships with major stakeholders to enhance farming.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>According to him, the Minister of Agriculture, Alhaji Sabo Nanono, recently directed the distribution of the tractors in Kano State, out of which 10 were allocated to Zamfara.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are working hard to ensure that&nbsp;&nbsp;we brought the vehicles to the state for the benefit of our farmers,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>He said that the association was partnering with the Federal Ministry of Water Resources to support about 15,000 irrigation farmers in the state under Bakalori Irrigation Scheme.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>He commended the programmes initiated by Zamfara Government to boost farming.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs a major farmers\u2019 association, we are ready to work with all stakeholders to encourage farmers to participate in farming activities across all the commodities,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>He appealed to farmers in the state to participate in all farming programmes initiated by the Federal Government in order to benefit from&nbsp;&nbsp;government support for farmers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Chris Ndibe The All Farmers Association of Nigeria&nbsp;&nbsp;(AFAN) has secured 150 tractors from the Federal Government to enhance farming activities across the country.
