{"id":21846,"date":"2020-04-11T09:47:00","date_gmt":"2020-04-11T08:47:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/?p=21846"},"modified":"2020-04-11T09:47:00","modified_gmt":"2020-04-11T08:47:00","slug":"nigeria-how-to-ensure-that-the-economy-remains-stable-osinbajo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thefreezonechannel.com\/old\/nigeria-how-to-ensure-that-the-economy-remains-stable-osinbajo\/","title":{"rendered":"Nigeria: How to ensure that the economy remains stable &#8211; Osinbajo"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>By Mr Laolu Akande, spokesman to the VP<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<p>After his regular meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has reported that they were concerned on how to stabilise economy, create and protect jobs.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Below, his exchange with the press on April 10, 2020:<\/p>\n\n\n<p><strong>Question: Your Excellency, what do you want Nigerians to know regarding your engagement with the President as the head of the high-powered Economic Sustainability Committee?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<p>Answer: I came to brief the President, as it is usual, the regular briefing that I give, sometimes I come physically as you have seen me today, other times I brief him on the phone or by video conference.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>What we are concerned about is how to ensure that the economy remains stable, that jobs are protected and if possible, more jobs are created. We are very concerned about that and the President has expressed very serious concerns about the problems that may be associated with the lockdown.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Many of our people work for a daily wage, they have to go out to work, so we have to think in terms of how to ensure that we are able to give them some succour during the period when they are not able to work.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Some of those issues are the issues Mr President wanted me to discuss fully with him.
