An appeal has been made to the Federal Government for grant or soft loan to local producers of Agro processing machines of different types for our youths to be taught the trade free.
Mr Morgan Nnadi, Managing Director of Christal Concept Technical and Afro Allied Ltd made the in Awka.
He called on Federal Government to mandate removal of bottleneck beaurocracy humping issuance of Lian to manufacturers of high tech farming equipment to boost food production in Nigeria.
“After graduating from tertiary education, I never taught of going for white collar job but to be a problem solver which necessitated my venturing into this business.
“I intend helping over 100 youths learn this trade if support would come from government to help us gain grant or loan which banks are not relenting in making the process easy.
“I have done a lot of job for FADAMA projects but it ends there without any plans to give us succour on how to grow our trade for bumper harvest,” he said.
Nnamdi said that with massive investment on Afro producing equipment Nigeria would feed better.
“China has some one room industries fully supported by their government which is making them to grow economically.
“Nigeria can generate massive benefits in this value chain if we are encouraged, ” he said.
