PSIRS  trains directors on how to boost revenue

The  Chairman, Plateau State Internal Revenue Service, Mr Arlat Dashe, says the service has trained directors in the organisation to boost revenue generation.

Dashe said this during the closing ceremony of the three-day training for  the executive chairman, directors, deputy directors and assistant directors in Jos on Wednesday.

He said that the training had equipped the directors to function optimally in their various capacity.

“We need to understand our job, take ownership of what we do to be able to command those under us, ” he said.

The chairman said “punctuality, commitment to work is key to achieving  set targets.

“Our target in the service is to grow and collect revenue and every hand on deck is needed to achieve this”.

The chairman said that the training had made the N20-billion target an easy task for the organisation

Mrs Funmi Adefeko, the facilitator from New Identify Ltd., said that the training had repositioned and made the directors ambassadors of the organisation to be able to handle high value task.

Adefeko said that the training would ensure cultural transformation, give an enabling environment and psychological safety to enable the organisation to surpass set targets.

Mrs Afinike Walbe, a director in the service, said that the training was highly intensive and educational.

“We are better managers and are expected to perform better and to surpass our set targets,” said Walbe.

Yunusa Bello said that directors were now placed in better position and would go all out to meet set target.

Awards and certificates were given to participants at the end of the training.
