Dr Oluleye Adigun, a US-based Nigerian, has declared readiness to open the African market to the electric vehicle industry through a new company called FLUX.
Adigun said FLUX vehicles are designed to be very adaptable to customers tastes and needs.
He said that FLUX electric vehicles would be assembled in Ghana, while its lithium battery factory will be in Nigeria.
Adigun, an Osun State-born billionaire, is the owner and Chief Operating Officer of Golden Glades Treatment Centre, and Adigun Investment Group.
Among other partners behind FLUX are Tosin Afolabi, Yejide Orororo, Willdavis Epeagba, and Adewale Iyanoye.
Adigun has stakes in nine companies operating in commercial real estate, several e-commerce companies and wind and solar energy.
Others are aviation, with four private planes, a technology company, which owns computer software/applications, and six clinics in the healthcare industry.
He said that FLUX vehicles were designed to take advantage of the current natural gas industry, while opening the African market to the electric vehicle industry.
The billionaire businessman said the vehicles were designed to use current energy industry in Africa, adding it was fully equipped for Africa of the future.
“FLUX comes in a sedan and SUV version.
“Our vehicles come with several luxury and advanced technology features. They come with a lot more optional advanced features than can’t be described here.
“Some of our features are self-driving ability, 14 cameras around the car, optional electric charging station, powered with solar panel for home or office.
“There is also optional propane gas charging generator that can be incorporated into the vehicle, thus giving our vehicle unlimited range,” he said.
Adigun said that the vehicle’s lithium battery would come with over 400 miles range, depending on the model.
According to him, the vehicles can be quickly charged with a generating set and could be used as generating set to power a house.
“Our vehicle leg space is big enough for both front and rear seat to recline. FLUX vehicles can raise its riding height, an impressive amount (up to 1 foot) so that it can clear flooded or rough roads.
“We will also have armoured version of FLUX vehicles for dignitaries. Our armoured version will come with over 530 horsepower and 612 lb.-ft of torque to haul the added blast around, “ he said.
He said further that the company would also offer sirens, flashing lights, two-way radios, emergency backup battery, on-board charging device for extended range, a loudspeaker system and portals for defense solutions.
Adigun said that the listed items were sure to be useful when trying to navigate dangerous situations in the streets.
“The tires will be run-flats, and some would be bulletproof, while behind the rear seats is a steel bulkhead to secure the heads of the passengers, in case of any type of attack.
“It can take any type of explosive and gun attack from outside. In case, inside of the vehicle catches fire, the vehicle can sense it and suppress the fire without hurting the vehicle occupants,” he said.
