Inauguration of Buhari, others trend in Nigerian newspapers

The inauguration of President Muhammadu Buhari and state governors is the trending story in Nigerian newspapers on Thursday.

Nation reported that a vista of hope swept across the land on Wednesday  as President Muhammadu Buhari and 29 governors took the oath for a term of four years.

Punch said the inauguration of President Buhari and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo for a second term in office took place at the Eagle Square in Abuja on Wednesday amidst tight security.

Many dignitaries that attended the event called on Nigerians to support the President so that the country could make progress.

Vanguard reported also that 28 governors, made lofty promises during their inauguration as they took their oath of office across the country.

Sun said the Lagos Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has assured that the state will surmount all hard times confronting her.

He said the challenges were surmountable with the cooperation and support of the people.
