The France Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Jerome Pasquier, has assured that his country will sustain trade and investment cooperation with Nigeria.
Pasquier made the remarks when he visited the Dala Inland Dry Port in Kano in continuation of his visit to many parts of the country so that he would be able to tell investors in France about trade opportunity existing in Nigeria.
“I am visiting so many places in Nigeria including Kano, so that I will be able to tell people in France that there are many projects taking there, including Kano Dry Inland Port.
“We want to work with small, medium and big companies in all states.
“France also wants to work with Nigeria in agriculture sector, because it is one of the top priority of President Muhammadu Buhari.
“That is the work of the embassy and I have been doing it,” he said.
In his remarks, the Managing Director, Dala Inland Dry Port, Mr Ahmed Rabiu, said that the project was created to boost the Nigerian economy.
He said that at the beginning, 200 hectares of lands were allocated for the project, out of which, 165 hectares were for the special economic zone, while the remaining 35 hectares were for inland dry port.
Rabiu said that area would be connected to the rail line, so that all cargos coming in and out of it would be by rail.
He noted that the state government had already constructed access roads, linked the zone to the national grid and provided water to enhance its operations.
The managing director also said that people of the state were hospitable and the state was peaceful for business activities to thrive.
