Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is expected to grace Aba Leadership and Business Summit in Aba in the third week of May, Abia government has said.
The Director General, Abia State Marketing and Quality Management Agency, Mr Sam Hart speaking on the second edition of the Aba Business and Leadership Summit said Osinbajo had confirmed attendance.
Hart gave the hint on Thursday during a Press briefing announcing the second edition of the Aba Business and Leadership Summit.
The theme of the 2021 edition of the summit is “Transferring Tested and Trusted Business Models to the Next Generation”.
He said the summit would address the business needs of Abia businessmen which leads to the death of businesses after their founders had died.
Hart said some of the participants would include Prof Barth Nnaji, Prof Greg Ibe, Chief Nnodum Okoye, Mr Uche Orji, Mr Uduakommiri Leo, Emeka Onwuka and Nnamdi Ezeigbo.
Hart said the summit was being planned in conjunction with Aba Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ACCIMA) and Aba Creative Collectives.
He said the event would hold from Wednesday May 26 to May 27 at Aba Sports Club to ensure the summit satisfactorily addresses the business sustainability needs of Abia businesses.
Mr Lawrence Obeta, the President of ACCIMA said the summit would help Aba businesses build stronger synergy and structure to enable them stand the tests of time and outlive their founders.
He said the era of one-man businesses had passed stressing that businesses needed to be sustained to create jobs and wealth for future generations.
He said the invitations had gone wide and would include the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company which would need to tell Abia people why they want to kill their business with inflated bills.
Obeta said there would be follow-up trainings for businessmen who would participate under the chamber to ensure the put into practice the ideas shared to sustain their businesses.
