No fewer than 6,606 registered entrepreneurs in Katsina would benefit from the Micro, Small, Medium and Enterprise (MSMEs) support of the Federal Government.
The Director General, Katsina Investment Promotion Agency (KIPA), Alhaji Ibrahim Tukur-Jikamshi, said at the formal presentation of certificates of registration to the beneficiaries.
He said the MSMEs had five components which namely: Payroll Support scheme, Artisans and Transporters Scheme, Guaranteed Off-take, General Grant to SMEs and Formalisation Support Scheme.
“For Katsina , 6,606 entrepreneurs are allowed to register under the formalisation support scheme.
“This is the first time when Cooperate Affairs Commission registered such large number of entrepreneurs in the state,” he said.
Tukur-Jikamshi said with the registration, the entrepreneurs would have access to various intervention programmes under the scheme.
In his remarks, Gov. Aminu Masari said that no government had ever done more than what the present administration of President Muhammadu Buhari is doing in terms of social intervention.
He said that such interventions were assisting in stimulating economic growth across the country.
Masari urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the funds, so as to achieve the set objectives.
