The Carlcon Consulting has asked Africans to be more knowledgeable on the issues of free zone operation and development through constant training and updating of staff and other stakeholders.
The Managing Director, CEO Carlcon consulting, Mr. Chris Ndibe, gave the advice at the workshop for middle level manpower on free zone operation in Abuja.
He maintained that most of the discussions at different platforms were centred on how to adapt to the fast moving world.
“This discussions is taking place because free zones are not operating in isolation but with other systems and schemes that are shaping the world every day for the better, logistics, persons, value chains, global trade agenda, FDI inflow.’’
He added that FTZ is a veritable instrument in Africa and Nigeria in particular.
“According to the World Bank, Africa currently offers the highest returns on investment than any region in the world,’’ he said.
“Africa is the next frontier as free zones will propel economics development on the continent with free trade areas AFCFTA being signed by the countries of Africa.
“This further informed the establishment of free zone academy, organizing programmes even to the board level.
“Our training on why do free zones fail or succeed is taking at every level and retreat because of its relevance to the dealing of free zones ecosystem.’’
Ndibe noted that free zone worldwide has taken a dynamic and progressive approach. Stating that the world free zone organization has a knowledge management unit, churning out the way forward knowing that free zones operates in a dynamic world .
