NBS publishes 341 reports on economy

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) published no fewer than 341 reports on different sectors of the Nigerian economy in the past two years.
In the 2017 and 2018 tentative data posted on the bureau’s website, the reports were released monthly, quarterly and annually.
162 reports were released in 2017 and 179 in 2018.
The breakdown showed that no fewer than 74 reports were released in the first quarter of the years under review, as 34 reports were released in 2017 and 40 reports published in 2018 accordingly.
For the second quarter, no fewer than 94 reports were published in the second quarter of 2017 and 2018 as the breakdown showed that 43 reports were released and 51 data were also released.
In addition, a total of 84 reports were released in the third quarter and 49 reports were published in the fourth quarter of the year under review.
The breakdown further showed that 38 reports and 46 data were published in the third quarter of 2017 and 2018, 47 reports and 42 data were published in the fourth quarter of the years respectively.
According to the calendar, the bureau released monthly data on Federal Account Allocation Committee Disbursements, consumer price index and inflation, price watch on diesel, petrol and kerosene in the years.
Other data released were Gross Domestic Products (GDP) and foreign trade merchandise, Road transport data, exportable crops survey, prison statistics, pension asset and membership data, annual postal service data and food security survey.
In addition, the bureau released data on immigration, pension asset and membership, job creation, smart nutrition survey and labour force as well as capital importation report.
Also, statistics on foreign trade merchandise, airline and passenger travel, multiple indicator cluster survey and report on women and children were published.
Unemployment and under-employment watch, labour productivity report and online recruitment service report were released.
Furthermore, the bureau released statistics on corruption, motor vehicles, road accidents, energy and environmental statistics, among others.
