Against recent insinuations, Nigerian
Ports Authority (NPA) has denied breaching due process in the award of
contract for the dredging of Escravos Bar in Warri.

dredging contract to a company that had been convicted by a court of
competent jurisdiction in Switzerland contrary to the provisions of the
Public Procurement Act 2007.

But the Assistant General Manager of NPA,
Mr. Isa Suwaid, said on behalf of the management, that the Authority
had always been guided by provisions of the Procurement Act in all its
procurement processes.

by the Authority have always been subject to the supervision/approval of
the Bureau of Public Procurement(BPP).

He explained that the Authority received

He said: “All arithmetic computations so

procuring entity to do such and consequent documentations of the
computations were submitted to BPP for no objection
